Without a doubt, I've been neglecting the anime section a lot recently, the last anime I added was Card Captor Sakura almost a year ago.
But that break is over, there are a few titles I'm going to add in the next weeks, and the first one today is Konjiki no Gash Bell.
That list only covers characters introduced up to episode 11, that's all I've seen so far, important characters like Tio and Megumi are missing therefore. You can look up their seiyuu here, though.
I've also added a feature about Folgore's seiyuu Hiroki Takahashi.

It didn't look like it in the beginning, but now that a few months have passed, I can definitely say the seiyuu quiz was a success. It's currently the page with the most hits, after the index page of course.
Reason enough for me to work on a second seiyuu quiz, which I finished today.
10 new fresh questions, and probably even more difficult than the first 10, especially question 9 >:D
I have also added the answers to the first seiyuu quiz, to view them just press submit once and a link will come up. Answers to the new quiz will be revealed some time later.

What's up with Kappei Yamaguchi's and Tomokazu Seki's hair lately? ^_^
I'm certainly at a loss of words... but judge for yourself. Here a picture with Kappei in it (Satsuki Yukino, Kumiko Watanabe, Kouji Tsujitani and Houko Kuwashima are the others in the picture) and
here a Stratos 4 group photo, the picture is quite small but there shouldn't be any problems spotting Tomokazu, he sticks out a lot.
Well, I wouldn't post news just for that, I also have some new content, these characterpics:

It's always a big difference if you're doing feature on a well known seiyuu like Kotono Mitsuishi compared
to doing a feature on one of the newer seiyuu, who aren't covered that well on the net yet and whose names are
only familiar to the more serious seiyuu fans.
Yes, it's definitely much more exciting and today is one of those exciting days. The new feature seiyuu is Romi Paku, also known as Romi Park (Park is not japanese, hence she's rumored to be of korean origin).

Time for another round of new character pics:
Shinmeiryu has again contributed to this, the two Gravion pics are his work.
I have also updated the radio link list. There are quite a few things that happened since the last update.
These shows have ended: Tomoko Kaneda's Mini Mini Micro Kindergarten, Sakura Nogawa's Yume miru Candy and Konya mo Mikkurisakkuri and Kumi Sakuma's Shiroshi no Honey Pepper.
But of course there are also new shows: Angel Clinic 2 (hosted by Kumi Sakuma and Chiwa Saitou), Hiro Yuuki's Independence Day, Poporaji and Radio Nereids (the radio show to Daphne in the Brilliant Blue).
It's also worth writing about the ATV News again, a lot of new seiyuu videos have accumulated there:
- Talk by Yuka Inoguchi and Hitomi Nabatame about Maburaho
- Talk by Kana Ueda and Mamiko Noto about Maria-sama ga Miteru
- Video message from the two main seiyuu of the upcoming anime Pugyuru Sakura Nogawa and Ai Tokunaga
The other cast members are also posted there: Yuu Asakawa, Kumi Sakuma, Miki Narahashi, Miho Yamada, Toshihide Tsuchiya, Michitoshi Seki and Nobuyuki Hiyama
- A video where a few seiyuu of Galaxy Angel are playing a Galaxy Angel board game
Those seiyuu are Mayumi Yamaguchi (Forte), Ryoko Shintani (Milfeuille), Saori Gotou (Chitose in the PS2 Game Galaxy Angel Moonlit Lovers) and Mika Kanai (Vanilla H). The seiyuu for Mint and Ranpha are sadly not in it.
- Something you can keep yourself busy with for over an hour: 5 movies with the main cast of R.O.D the TV, Shouko Kikuchi (Michelle), Chiwa Saitou (Anita) and Hiromi Hirata (Maggie).
Here is the first, here the 2nd and 3rd and here the last two.
- Talk by Takahiro Mizushima (Christopher) and Yuki Matsuoka (Senes) about Scrapped Princess
- Message from Haruko Momoi
- Messages from Hiroko Kasahara, Atsuko Enomoto, Yuka Inoguchi and KAORI
Not enough seiyuu videos? Well, then you should visit the homepage of Gainax's new anime starting this spring, This Ugly And Beautiful World (Kono Miniku mo Utsukushii Sekai).
The character page has video messages from the main seiyuu in Windows Media Player and Real Player format.
Well, the character designs are pretty much the same as in Mahoromatic and the seiyuu are also the same. There's Ayako Kawasumi, Ai Shimizu, Fujiko Takimoto, Asami Sanada, Yumi Kikuchi, Manabi Mizuno, Atsushi Kisaichi, Hideki Ogihara and Yumi Takada. The only seiyuu who was not in Mahoromatic is Takahiro Mizushima, who plays the male lead.
So far no sight of Takehito Koyasu, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's playing that guy second from left on the group picture.

How fast one can change his mind...
As of today the 'normal seiyuu database' section of this site, Extended Listings as I called it,
will have profiles and pictures.
I've collected quite a lot of seiyuu pictures over the time, and that's a good place to use them.
I once thought about adding an Image Board to the site and post them there, but with the
popularity of this site I guess I would have been the only one posting :/
Well, here an example of a site that already has a picture: Mamiko Noto.

Today I've added the first new feature seiyuu since the site moved, Kana Ueda.
Plus these 4 roles:
01.19.2004
Time for another role update:
The Stratos 4 picture is again a contribution of Shinmeiryu.
And I have some good news. The still most complete and reliable seiyuu database on the web,
Miracle Voice Actors & Magical Voice Actresses,
is being updated again after leaving the impression of being dead in the past 6 months. So, hurray ;)

A new year has begun and so has the new anime season. Personally, I haven't seen any of the new shows yet,
but I've taken a look at the cast lists of most of them and have updated the database with the information
I could gather so far. Here the anime that have a more or less complete listing:
- Area 88
- Cosprayers
- Maria-sama ga Miteru
- Yumeria
I've added more than this, but only random roles, nothing really worthy of being posted here in the news.
A few weeks ago I posted about the ATV News and their seiyuu videos.
I'm thinking of doing this on a regular basis now. And today I can combine it very well with the above news.
There are several news about the new anime shows with video messages of the maincast:
- Maria-sama ga Miteru
- Yumeria
- Kitahe ~Diamond Dust Drops~
- Gravion Zwei
- Misaki Chronicle ~Divergence Eve~
Other notable news at ATV:
- Message from Atsuko Enomoto, Yumi Kakazu and Fumiko Orikasa about the new Ru/Li/Lu/Ra CD
- Message from Asami Sanada and Mamiko Noto about the Naru Taru DVD Release
- Message from Mixed Juice
(Mixed Juice = Mai Nakahara, Chiwa Saitou, Kana Ueda, Rika Morinaga)
- Message from Hiroki Takahashi, Daisuke Kishio, Junichi Suwabe about the new Harem Beat CD
- Message from Natsuki Kuwatani, Tomoko Kawakami and Miyu Matsuki about new CDs and the new Webradio of D->A:BLACK
- Message from Tomokazu Seki and Kazuhiko Inoue about the new Gravitation Drama CD

Getting back into the normal update cycle with these new roles:
That Battle Programmer Shirase character pic has been send in by Shinmeiryu, something I definitely appreciate.
And I sure would like to see more people doing that.

Well... welcome to the all new "Ryu's Seiyuu Infos"!
Finally with an URL short enough to be memorizable. Yes, owning this info domain is a nice thing, and an ideal fit for the site title,
but I also have www.seiyuu.de, even shorter :)
If that's still too much typing for you, both URLs work without 'www'. And of course I couldn't resist to create myself the e-mail account "ryu at seiyuu.info", hehehe doesn't get much better than that.
Unless you're blind or completly new to the site you will have noticed the second obvious change, the reworked design.
What a foolish idea it was to work on the design. I wasn't able to foresee how much work it's going to be, but in the end, I guess, it was worth it.
The changes aren't thaaat big, but you all have to agree it's an improvement, no? Especially the index page...
Coming to the not so obvious changes, there is for example the search. It's now finished and it's certainly one of the longest scripts I've ever written. I think it turned out pretty well, it has some some neat features you don't see everywhere.
I've implemented everything I wanted at the beginning, except for the use of logical operators, unlike with the old picture search you can't use them anymore. It's not impossible to add it again, but it would be quite some work. And since nobody has used that feature before, it would be a waste of time.
Then there is this section called Extented Listings. I have long thought about adding this feature. I never wanted a seiyuu site, like all the other ones, who only list roles without characterpics.
But I am well aware, that a listing based on character pics will never be as complete as those text based databases. And if I want a seiyuu site,
which not just provides additional information to other sites, but something that can stand on it's own,
well then there is no way around than to add it.
Since I don't want to distract too much from the main feature, which are still the characterpics-based listings, I kept it pretty basic, no profile information and no profile pictures.
Right now, the database is pretty empty, I haven't really started adding information to it, writing all the scripts to get it running was time consuming enough. But be informed, every time I add something, it will go unreported in the news. You'll have to spot check, to see if it has grown.
Btw, there is a connection between the normal seiyuu sites and the extended listing sites: the heading, you can switch between the two by clicking on it.
Lastly, the radio link list has been updated. I have been following the events involving most of the internet radio programs, but I haven't wrote any news about it and have barely updated the list.
So, let's see if I can recap it:
The most important thing was, that Cyber Project went offline. All hosted radio programs moved to anista.tv, except Kyoko Hikami's show, which just ended.
This move had a positive and a negative effect. Positive was the fact, that all radio programs who previously charged money for listening were now for free (excluding Mika Kanai's Black Dragon and Tomoko Kawakami's Usagi no Mimitabu, all programs fell into that category).
Negative was the effect this had on anista.tv's bandwidth, everything got significantly slower. A while ago, they changed the host for their streaming audio files and the situation has improved again, but it's still not perfect.
Not all programs from Cyber Project have remained unchanged:
Mika Kanai's two radio programs Black Dragon and Pink Dragon have merged, or something like that, to Pink da yo! Black Dragon.
And Asami Sanada's Nonbiri Monaka became Asami Ai no Futari Don Burako.
Two radio programs have ended their run: Houko Kuwashima's 'club DB' and Yuuki Hiro's 'Comic Island'.
The hosts of 'Voice Crew' have changed, but I have taken it from the list, there is no point keeping it if their server remains that slow.
And something that happens every 3 months is the change of hosts for BBQR's dot-i. last time I reported about it, the new host was Mamiko Noto, after that came Ryoko Shiraishi, and the current host is Eriko Ishihara.
A seiyuu I haven't heard of before, but I'm definitely interrested in now after having listened to her radio show. Her voice reminds me a lot of Kumi Sakuma...
Another BBQR show, Masumi Asano's Spa Raji, will be back this friday (01.09.2004) after a couple of months without any updates. There will be a guest this friday, none other than Haruko Momoi (just a little reminder: Spa Raji will be broadcasted live).
Last but not least a list of shows, that aren't new, but haven't been on the list before:
Toshiyuki Morikawa's Radio Pastel Collection, Lime-iro Jogakuin,
Konya mo Mikkurisakkuri, Cherrybell.
