Today I'm not updating with new roles
or new seiyuu pages, it's something different, something with more entertainment
value, a Seiyuu Quiz :)
For me, the person who wrote it, it's not easy to judge how difficult
this quiz is, I would guess medium to hard, depending on you, but easy
it certainly not is. But we'll soon see... your results are being logged...
The quiz sure favors those who are good
in recognizing the voice of a seiyuu, it's not something for the living database type.
Well, whatever type you are, I hope enjoy it.
I don't think the quiz page needs any
further explanation, only one thing I have to point out: if you have disabled
popups, enable it or you won't be able to see your score.

Last week, I finally got off my lazy butt
and learned some php. And the first thing I did was to program a search
for this site. Today I finished the first part of the search engine, the
picture search. I will expand it later to make it possible to search for anime
titles, anime characters and whatnot.
So, what is this picture search good for?
It searches the local seiyuu galleries for the occurence of a person's
name. Now, why would you want to do that? Look at this example: you'd like
to see some pictures of Kikuko Inoue. Kikuko has her own site with a gallery
of 10 pictures, but those 10 pictures are not all pictures she's on, in
this case use the search. Another example: you want to see pictures with
Chihiro Suzuki. Chihiro is not featured on this site and therefore doesn't
have a gallery, but that doesn't mean there aren't pics with him, again
you could use the search.
Besides the search, I've also added a new picture to Satsuki Yukino's Gallery and these roles:

Two days ago was the 15th November, the
date of first birthday of this website. To somewhat celebrate this I thought
of preparing an update a little bit bigger than usual. But I didn't finish
in time, oh well.
Let's see what we've got. First, there
is the addition of these roles:
And second are two new seiyuu: Kyoko Hikami
and Saeko Chiba.
Back in April, the guys over at Seiyuu
Directory updated there site with a picture of their next feature seiyuu,
it was Saeko Chiba. Now 7 months later the Seiyuu Directory hasn't seen
another update and I'm first to have a site about her. Quite sad, I hope
that april update wasn't the last one. There aren't exactly many seiyuu
sites out there, and seeing another one dying wouldn't be good.
I recently saw CC posting on a certain
board saying he moved to Japan, but is that reason enough to stop working
on your site? Well, I don't know, but it's none of my business anyway.
This site concers me much more, of course,
and after one year it is doing quite well. Just looking at the statistics
makes proud, 50 seiyuu sites, ~380 seiyuu pictures, ~740 character pics.
And I'm still motivated to spend a lot of time working on it. That I'm
not able to keep up the pace I was going in the first months could've been
expected. Sometime sooner or later it was certain, that I'm going to run
out of material. You're only going to find information and especially some
good pictures of those seiyuu who have reached a certain popularity, and
most of them have found their way here on my site. I can think of many
seiyuu I'd like to add in the future, but I won't as long as I don't have
a few decent pictures and a few anime they starred in to create character
pics.
For example there is Tomoko Kawakami,
I could create like 20 character pics for her, but I don't have a single
pic of her. Or a counter example, Ai Maeda, I have a lot of pictures, but
could create only one character picture. This sure is point where I could
use some help from other people *hint* ;)
Which brings me to another point, feedback,
correspondence of those who visit this site. I can see from the sites counter,
that visitors are increasing. So it can't be so wrong what I'm doing here.
But still the number of mails, or comments in other forms, I've received
were few.
Now, I have never been the person to give
other sites feedback without beeing prompted to do so. And I'm not really
begging you to give me any, but of course they are welcome. And if it's
just that you can't find a way to contact me, it's quite simple... you
just have to scroll down.
So far this site is completely based on
my own ideas, a seiyuu site like I alway wanted to see it. Other peoples
ideas, opinions, suggestions sure wouldn't hurt, though. But enough of
that, I think you get the point...
Coming to another matter. Those who have
visited the local seiyuu internet radio link list know, that the domain
www.animate.tv was not accessible for me back when I created that list.
Somehow they blocked all people with german hosts or something, I don't
know. But now it does work, and its contents are very interesting for
a seiyuu fan like me. Besides the radio shows, there is the
ATV News part,
which I just dicovered last friday. All the news entries
with a movie icon attached to it come with one or more streaming movies,
with an average length of 3 minutes, featuring mostly seiyuu promoting
their new CD singles, talking about the anime they are currently working
on or whatever. And that news page has a huge backlog.
Ah~ha, I felt like receiving a new issue
of AX Animation magazine with DVD, just that the image quality doesn't
quite compare.
As I can imagine that not everyone reading
this is able read japanese, I'm going to shortly introduce some of my favorite
movies of that site:
- Megumi Hayashibara and Tomokazu Seki about 'Hitsuji no Uta'
- Mariko Kouda about her new CD
- Message from the four main seiyuu of Maburaho, first half has Daisuke Sakaguchi
and Hitomi Nabatame, second half Yuki Matsuoka and Yuka Inoguchi
- Tomokazu Seki, Miki Nagasawa and Katsuyuki Konishi about Anime Tenchou,
there are several more movies with those three
- Chiwa Saitou, Rika Morinaga, Kana Ueda and Mai Nakahara about the Mix Juice DVD
- D->A:Black Event featuring Yuuka Nanri, Natsuko Kuwatani, Yuu Asakawa, Kikuko
Inoue, Chiyomaru Shikura and Miyu Matsuki; second movie is the tiaraway
duo Saeko Chiba and Yuuka Nanri
- Message from Haruko Momoi dressed as Nakahara Komugi
- Yumi Kakazu, Sanae Kobayashi, Fumie Mizusawa, Reiko Takagi about Divergence Eve
- Ikkitousen press conference featuring Masumi Asano, Kikuko Inoue, Shoutarou Morikubo and more
